old test results i took that i haven't bothered to put up. but now i'm bored...and nervous cos i'm meeting prof landow tomorrow.
Mental test, heheh....

Primary Ability:
Farseeker
Farseekers posses the ability to communicate over great distances via telepathy. They are great friends who know when they're needed, and seem to be able to detect others thoughts.
Secondary Ability:
Futureteller
Futuretellers have an uncanny knack of knowing what is going to happen, well before anybody else. Alot of futuretellers have truedreams, whereas some, like Brydda, have what they call a 'sixth sense'. Futuretellers are usually very quiet, and reserved, yet they are loyal and trustworthy.
What
is your Misfit Talent?
Streams on Cobblestones
The meandering road of a slightly introverted mind. Normally witty. At turns morbid and cheerful. A little weird. Have fun.

i like digitally created places because they seem unreal and dream-like. Because there's probably lots of stuff i've dreamt before but forgotten, i sometimes feel a sense of deja vu when i see a digitally created place (especially stone buildings that have streams - check out the blog title...). Once in a while, i take out my obsession for old stone architecture, bright temperate atmospheres and streams on cobblestones, so i can feel weird and floaty for a day or two ^_^
My favourites are the two Belvedere pics by Chris Becker. I can't find the pic now but you can see a thumbnail of if here - http://surreal-archives.50megs.com/users/users9.html
This one from Surreal Places is also cool - main cos of the stone, water and sunny yet cool feel of digital art - http://www.surrealplaces.com/various/tangier.jpg

phew!
mind-boggling day cleaning up my bibliography and printing more readings. I can just feel the frown-lines developing between my eyebrows when i tried to follow all those communication models - but i do believe i'm a leeeettle closer to find a model, or at least, some support for my hare-brained scheme.
Also did some spring-cleaing - now i have a pile of readings i've honest-to-goodness-glowing with highlighter-fluid read, another pile that i'm only skimmed-through-enough-to-look-for-relevant-quotes-from-but-still-quite-clean. Another pile is zapped and know its relevant but probably not gonna read it before Jan, when i finally start writing.
That just the hypertext readings - i think i'll have to create 2 more sections - one for design and one for comm models. plus my mouse pointer function wobbled and i had to reboot my laptop - needless to say i IMMEDIATELY backed-up everything thesis-related after that. No wonder some people get fat especially during prolonged periods of stress....
but through it all, silly me still managed to finds the time, in the middle of the night, to try out those dhtml/javascript things that let's you customise your browser window into one of those flat interfaces. Some thing about late nights brings out the urge to re-do my website - i tell you, i change my website layout more than i change the actual content - notice that that gallery is still devoid of pics despite Violet Haze being in its third incarnation...
although~~~ i just drew up a list of stuff to do - all before the end of October - so i probably won't be able get Violet Haze 4.0 up until Dec, no matter how much i like to fiddle with the layout and display my pathetic half-baked attempts on the world-wide web. But on the other hand, i'm such a sucker for pain i'll might blow one of my free days on it and bitterly regret it when it's Oct 31 and i'm up for 36 hours straight trying to get the email interviews out to the authors on time.
On the plus side - classes are ending soon! Better not forget to register for the exams, ugh...

visited this really cool hypertext - besides having great graphics/layout, it also generates a map of the places you've visited. Also, the story continues cos it has a program that will continue sending you the emails that the protagonist of the story receives...
Check it out! - http://www.worldofawe.projects.sfmoma.org/#
the story is about a traveller who goes to hunt for treasure in a place stuck between day and night, called Sunrise/Sunset. His journey is documented in a journal which is a laptop he made from a computer graveyard called Silicon Canyon (i think it is the old Silicon Valley? And it talks of the Information Age not as the InfoNet Era...hmmm, interesting). The time frame seems to be one that is very much later than our time now - he can't even understand the logo of Microsoft!
The navi is very impressive too - or maybe i'm just impressed with the map they generate - but (as i'm re-reading it now) for the first time i can really feel the value of hypertext (not just understand it) that each time u re-read, your understanding of it inreases and changes....

yay! got a lot done today. The CS4251 project is 97% done. Managed to get a Compelling(TM) storyline for CS4260 - wrestled the structure into submission this morning. And finally done the slide for the 14th presentation on Monday! How all that's left is actually completing CS4260 and the minor mountain of assorted thesis stuff - more readings, tracking down people, and (arggh!) composing of interview questions!
But had a very amusing day today, while waiting for my sis at Tampines Mall, spent an entertaining hour watching this balloon guy make balloon animals and toys for little kids. He kept getting more kids, with awed and shimmery-eyed with hope that he could make an allowance and do one for them, even after he wanted to stop. There was this cute little girl who wanted a yellow balloon ray-gun. She was a tiny tot, so he took a brown balloon, made it into a circle and put it around her waist to make a ridiculously large gun holster. He did some magic tricks while making the balloon toys, like breaking off a small part of the balloon so that a tiny balloon sphere tumbled around inside a balloon sword. He "broke" a balloon circle in half to make a seagull flying. There was a kid who couldn't take two balloons bursting consecutively and broke down in tears, demanding to be taken away from the Big Bad Bursting Balloons...other kids were screaming to be brought to the balloons, as parents who were pressed for time could not wait in the loong queue. It was really heart-breaking the way the kid positively frantic, torn between parent and balloon.
I've decided that if i ever have a party or gathering with kids, the balloon guy is essential. The awe-inspiring pleasure these simple toys brings, is forever beyond us young adults now. And it's not even because we have particularly bitter and cynical lives, but simple because we grew up and inevitably lost a lot of that innocence to appreciate those brightly coloured squeaky clunky toy balloons.
Bought the Matrix and the Musketeer, gonna have a mini-movie marathon with my sis now ^___^

wonder how many of my friends are like me now, finished the thesis proposal just in time, utterly stoned and wondering how the hell will we stay awake until IF4101. On top of that I've got 8 am lect so if I go to sleep now i'll probably not wake up even when the sun sets.
Tho' i'd just like to say...
~~~~I * SURVIVED * A * BIBLIOGRAPHY * ! ~~~~
~~~~AND * MY * EYEBALLS * DINNA * FALL * OUT * ! ~~~~~~
It is such a pain realising you've been using the wrong style for your biblio all along, and having to spend two hours tracking the down and changing them all. *shudder*
Oh, met an old friend at church yesterday, still looks the same. But it really went far in cementing me to my path, kinda one'na those milestones. Oh, and met another friend at Century Square - the funny thing was me and my sis kept bumping into her, even when we had walked to another building, heheh. Set up a december movie date for the old gang - TTT! Unless something else comes along and they prefer watching that...
okaaay! now that the proposal's done, what next?
Oh, not much, oni CS4251 project, CS4260 project and Dr Shim's readings...
....all the little stuff due in this week's meetings *choke*
adeline in serious need consolation of the chocolate persuasion *whine*

zapping fiesta for me today - think i got radiated so much my skin feels like it'd crack if i smiled. I could even feel when got that stoned from staying in the library too long. On the up side though, i feel geared up - even right now when i got my readings laid out on my desk - arranged so that it illustrates in excruooociating detail exactly how much i gotta read (May my eyeballs not fall out.) before i'm done.
i still get that startled twitch when i get a call or an sms. mainly coz i put my phone in my pants. felt it today on the mrt, and me, my readings and my heart all jumped. I think the curious feller sitting next to me watching me reading my readings also jumped.
