Yay! Finally handed up! But feelin' too drained to be able to party...need to buy my sis sumthin' nice for her helping me with my thesis website last nite - have since gotten two suggestions of chocolate, so chocolate it is!

The meandering road of a slightly introverted mind. Normally witty. At turns morbid and cheerful. A little weird. Have fun.

Once again my thesis has reinforced an important lesson in my life...
Shit happens....frequently.
The list is long and hard today, and i'm really too tired to belabor, but man it feels so bad, I better be careful crossing the road tomorrow, scully my thesis haven't get binded yet, i get flatten by a falling UFO or something - don't laugh, it's completely possible, with the crap that happened today. Made me treasure my high-level of patience. *smiles snerkily around*Did you know if you don't sleep for 30 hours, your appetite takes a nosedive and you can not eat for 12 hours?
Anyway, The Thing is finally bound. Have noticed two minor page errors - so now i don't dare read the thing anymore, for fear that i spot more - or realised I've been only writing a chim Primary Two level composition after all.
gonna do the video stuff now - but i'm torn because Monday's the second week of the marketing campaign for CS4264 and i don't want to let all that captive audiences go by without trying to brainwash them...
On the plus side! Adeline the Technology Laggart has finally printed something in school today! After four years in the institution, hahhah! Damn, if i had more time, i would have loved to print in sch...but i afraid to print on mon lar...it's like telling Murphy: "Nyah Nyah Ni Nyah Nyah~~~" Most unwise...
So chillin' with LFO mp3s, trying to get all the muscle aches out of my back. Gonna look like Gollum soon. And a chinese panda. Mind's surprisingly light though...it feels nice to finally worry about something as small as a 30 min marketing exercise...rather than a year-long project wih theories the size of the Milky Way and the tameness of mating Tarantula spiders. *shudder* Okay~ where did that come from?
Will probably blog more later, have just woken up (at 12 midnight *faint*) gotten in the FF8-bishonen-ogling mode, listening to mp3s, feelin' chatty. Not yet out of Twilight Zone yet, but almost there!

spent the last couple of hours drastically cutting stuff from the first three sections of the Textual Monstrosity otherwise known as my thesis. Have realised why it is good advice to stay away from the text a few days then going back to look at it again. Read it with a fresh critical eye and decisively cut stuff out - of cos the pain was probably numbed by the shock of my hulking word count. Maths-idiot that I am, Excel is now my friend! cos i got a sum-of-all-sections word count thing up, heheh...
have been sleeping most irregularly lately, I can't even sleep a straight five hours anymore - and it's screwing with my system cos i've got a blocked nose. Do you know how hard it is to type peering over the big piece of tissue you've stuck up your nose? Hahah...but better a blocked nose than a writer's block *shudder* the periods of self-hatred, ugh...
anyways, with the nify Excel thingy, finally got a word allocation what was comfortable for me - was afraid I talked too much the first three sections and my analysis is too little. well, actually I did, that's why I got so much to cut...
After this thesis is over....!
.....I'll probably go finish the rest of the projects...*sigh* Hah, wimp...
Damn, the FF8 guys look good...the power of fanfics, now there's a topic...
Wednesday, March 26
Oooh, got Evanescence running through my head now - like them a lot the first time I heard it - after the 24 hr brain-washing, I'm even more of a fan! Really like My Immortal - of course, was hooked on FF8 fics when i was listening to it, so the angstiness got to me...but their other songs are pretty nice too! - tho' after a while all you hear is the wailing vocals and heavy guitars but its great for pounding out stress.
After 24 fecking hours in front of the comp and digesting all the raw material into analysis, the resulting word count for my analysis is somewhere in the region of five figures. Bloody bloody hell...
Sunday, March 16
damn, i'm tired, really tired. But at least i can let the lit review and theoretical section rest in peace now. Though i'm still over the word limit so i'll probably pick on it and slash it some more, but yay! Working on compiling my glossary and appendixes now because my brain is too stoned to do the analysis section. Gonna terrorise my supervisor with all this stuff come Monday.
have finally figured out that 2am is the critical time in my writing cycle - its the time when i'm most tempted to give up the writing task for the day - like how i skipped out on finishing the usability section two days in a row, all around 2am. But i anticipate the analysis section to be more fun, so hopefully this won't become a bad habit.
listening to Shuichi from the Gravi soundtrack - wow! din expect his voice to sound so deep - he sounds even more mature than Ryuichi. I was expecting a younger more girlish voice - I mean, come on, pink hair!? Though he does sound so much more smooth than Ryuichi - but the songs are a bit repetitive, i know they are choruses, but...it doesn't sound repetitive when Ryuichi does them~~...heh, sense a bias coming on, I think it is the bunny and the gigantic picture he drew on the studio floor, hahah...

I don't get this. I like usability, I really do! So how come writing the usability section took me three days (and its still taking me!) and it felt like I was getting the blood sucked out of me drop by drop while having my nails plucked out one at a time? I'm over the word limit and I'm afraid my end notes are going to be.....long.
On the bright side, I've discovered a Gravitation song I really like! The first time I heard it, it sounded like the vocalist had sing with only half his mouth open to get that kind of sound, but after 20 times or so, it sounded cool, loud and nice! Anyone need a lab rat for media effects?

Isn't it just a bit sad to be scrounging for usability background+quotes - material from Amazon's Preview-the-Book samples? First time I saw 63 pages worth of a preview though. I like the newer usability books that combine usability and design - all that twelve-year old language level, nice nice graphics, and color pages. They really make the book usable, dammit.
Gah! Ade-clone #316 just exploded last night from trying to fit hyperfictions, usability, cultural studies and Berlo's communication model together. Luckily with a good night sleep (i.e. 4 hrs) Ade-clone #317 came in time to replace her and carry on with the brushing up of the introduction section. Hopefully this one will last until the reviewing of usability is done before blowing up. Why 4 hrs sleep you say? Because Ade-Mission Control was dumb enough to attempt a word count and the resulting figure caused her to have repeated nightmares of cutting out paragraphs. Let this be a sober warning to all readings & quotes pack-rats out there.

Yay! 2832 words! Must be because i put a whole lot of nonsense notes in the methodology limitations sections - just when I thot could go to sleep - then I saw a huge pile of methodology notes waiting to be quotes....
Sleep....
Quotes....
Sleep...
Ah, what the bloody hell, quotes!
....adeline is a closet quote-freak
Also having found that ogling at pictures of anime bishonen go a long way to alleviating lack of sleep. Lemme check. Yep, that Sendoh Akira obsession is still here, har har.
Thursday, March 6
arrrgghhhh!!!!! TWO hours and i'm still stuck at 3600+ words for my methodology section! Not only does it seem futile to cut it down (All the bits are important!), once i add in quotes, it'll grow even larger! Arghh! Writer's block!...No! Writer's hemorrhage! Hummph! *kicks thesis*
was duo-tasking recently...reading Portrait in Death and thesis-mugging....it went like this:
*gasp* Peabody and McNab cohabitating!? Oooh, nice so this author also felt readers do not need to be cognizant of structure...Roarke has a mom?!...wah! gotta create tables for all this info...And she's a red-head!...heheh, found three factors other than multimedia affecting reader's perception of theme...Wai! Eve finally get to traq Roarke! Revenge! How sweet!...la la la, oooh, author-quoted reason why a stylesheet cannot be enforced in hyperfiction...hmm, is that a bit of Dee/Ryo thing I see in Baxter/Trueheart thing? *lecherous grin*...hah! found a way from to include authors' questionnaires in the analysis...
...and so it went....but damn, seems to have lost the groove today, and I gotta get the methodology in shape for tomorrow. Tomorrow - a rare day of hell...
12:30 pm - meeting with supervisor
2pm - group meeting for project
4.30pm - meeting with lecturer for advice on methodology
...and i feel my bad habit of sleeping at 6 am kicking in again...i think i work better at night - it's the quiet, i think, helps me to bullshit my way through, hahah!

Monday, March 3
Can you believe we just got a project due the same day as the thesis?! Gonna beg the teacher for a deadline extension tomolo...
Remember the (literally) pain-filled entry a few days back? Weirdest thing happened, sat down for some thesis-work today and when I didn't hurt anymore...*gasp* Thesis work! Get rid of all physical pain!....through sheer amount of metal stress *snerk*
