Streams on Cobblestones

The meandering road of a slightly introverted mind. Normally witty. At turns morbid and cheerful. A little weird. Have fun.

Friday, August 13

Pwah, today's queue at YIH, terribly long, although the food didn't looks so good. Didn't even bother looking at the queue for the genki sushi bar. But the cleaning lady told me that the food costs less than their other outlets. So hmm....

Anyways, hoped on a shuttle bus to Arts and caught the just in time for the annual recruitment "day market" (what happened to the fairs they usually have in the forums?) and checked out the anime club's booth. ^_^ Breathed in the Arts air again, hehe. Then heard two snatches of dialogue that made me ponder hard on the odds of being hit by a falling UFO.

1) "Well, I'm just missing half an ICM lecture..."

2) "Don't you feel old?"

Hmmm....

Today at work had made me rethink organisational work and group dynamics - thank goodness I never went to business school or had to study HR too much - I would have gone nuts.

But yay! am on the net again...and yes, fics are like fine wine - you gotta let them age a little - so now I have a few chappies from different fics to enjoy! ... storing them up for a rainy day, of course...

Life is an Emotional Washing Machine

Today is an emotional washing machine - all before lunch! Have felt injustice, been indignant, furious, cried, been comforted, received the "let's clarify things" talk, which never ceases to astound me the many facets of human interaction - and I mean it in a good way. Then, have been overjoyed (i.e. high), guilty, inspired, felt unworthy all in the same moment of reading a non-work-related email.

Am now seriously thinking of continuing my hyperfictions studies...but another part of me looks at my work life/thesis/rusty academic skills and almost bust a vein laughing....and now still lets an occasional "Heh!" escape.

In other news - Kyou Kara Maou licensed! Argh! Oh well, there's still Fafner in the Azure, with it's Asuran clone (who behaved like Kira?).

Manga-wise, reading Takada Rie's H3 - Happy Hustle High (you perverts...) which is quite funny but after a while the ridiculousness of the heroine gets to you - but she's got guts, that's for sure. Though the hero (i can never remember their names...) has yet to prove his funny side like the hero from Wild Act did.

Movies!.....have only had time for one - King Arthur. Quite entertaining - better than Troy! Maybe cause I have little recollection of how the story goes. But isn't there something to be said for (more or less) good-looking armoured men on horses clashing away with swords...actually the fight scenes were interesting for me, is all. Lancelot looked sleazy and Arthur a little too stuffy (but only at the end). None of the traditional angst that went along with that love triangle...towards the end has dismayed internal thoughts - "Argh! There goes the Tristan and Isolde/Iseult(?) storyline...and there goes the love triangle before it's started...this movie is kinda AU isn't it?"
