Felt like I was being disemboweled by spoon yesterday so asked for the rest of the day off. In the midst of it all, remembered that I forgot my icq code (long string of pesky numbers that it is) and haven't bothered to re-install it. No problem anyway since XP and or a virus is acting up again and crashing my comp. bleh.

Have intentions of joining a 2hr book-making course. Just hope the process and end product is worth it. But just getting to feel the nice papers and fold them and imagine it been filled up with black words and glittery illustrations....my last life I must have been a monk/scribe.

Forum has a book sale with Anne McCaffrey books going at $4.00 per book. But that's not all. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Dragonflight! Eeeeee! There was Dragonsong and Dragondrums too, but Lessa's story is always my fav, followed by Jaxom's and Menolly's. Bought the Chronicles too - one of the volumes I hadn't read (or read and forgot...).

The only thing sadder than just missing two back-to-back No. 151s on the way to work is to have it happen again on the way home. Wah.

The current Bleach ending theme makes me all jiggly ^_^ so after every ep Ade could be found bobbing to the music a la Kon - with matching headphones!

Spotted and boughted reprints of Hisaya Nakajo's old manga - amnesia something sez the chinese title. Figured if it starts out with someone having amnesia, then less likelihood of the amenesia plot device, but nah, she's too cool to pull something like dat on us ^_^

Watched an ultra-sad makes-you-wanna-wail-buckets-and-rail-against-the-system episode of Judging Amy.

The night before it was some adventure mystery run-all-over-the-place snippet like National Treasure. It even had the almost-crush-you-to-death stone slab which is actually a secret stone passage.

Caught a snippet of a most interesting guzheng performance by 15 ladies from the Tanglin Sec Sch Guzheng Ensemble at Clementi Central. Veery nice outreach. Innovative concept of building the stage just above the water of the lower portion of the water fountain pool outside Bengawan Solo - making the wide steps from Mac's down a perfect loitering/standing location to appreciate the performance.

Naruto 145 - Eh, those Sand dudes most scary. Getting good chemistry from Shikamaru and Temari - rather than a couple, they seem the kind to be prickly life-long confidantes.

Three new manga series:

+Anima
Cute cute little munchkins (except for the bear teen but he's cute too because his hobby is making pressed flowers) journeying to find a home(?) for themselves. They are capable of manifesting an animal trait - e.g. raven, bat, fish, bear, tiger, etc. The manga proposes that the children/adolescents develop special traits after facing a life-or-death scenario and/or abandonment. These traits fade over time as they grow older and are able to protect themselves/gain a protector. Basically cute munchkins! Quite a shonen kind of manga, each volume probably takes eight months (considering I saw volume one when I was still in uni), so v slow.

New series by author of W-Juliet
Quite talky. Gonna need a bit more to make it interesting. The male lead looks so damn much much like Ito from W-Juliet, I keep thinking of him as a her instead. Emura screwing with our heads again, argh! Girl with a book and a ring which allows her to call up various mythical creatures and characters - e.g. the four gods (Byakko, Suzaku, etc), the Eight Immortals, the elemental spirits. Good attempt at mystery but lacks that spark of W-Juliet, hmmm. Similar theme of entertaining (theatre previously, now it's the circus/acrobatics) to spread THE JOY AND LOVE!

Merupuri (The Marchen Prince)
Very shoujo but oh the prettys! Rates very high on the luscious hair list. Aram is like CLAMP-ish Assam from Koucha Ouji. The premise is 'nother brain-twister like W-Juliet, only age-wise.

Death Note 5 is out but actually really looking forward to the next volume of H3, which I have heard will be ending in the next book or so. Hope not.

BLEACH manga - finally! some Hitsugaya! (if only to see him get hopelessly outclassed by Aizen It's-always-the-smiling-ones Sousuke.) Ichimaru Gin has a froggy smile (like that that first captain from Ninku) :P

Anime eps:

Sukiyo 8, first 1 min - I truly truly do not know whether to be sympathetic to Sora or to Yoru. More bishies! With personalities! Who cares if one has an incomplete haircut and the other reminds me of ventriloquistic Schuldig with a creepy pink plushie! (Hmm, come to think of it, any remotely shaggy redhead remind me of Schuldig, kyuurious~~~) Kano is sooo cute too! Makes you wanna take him out for ice-cream.

Conspiracy theory 1: Sora was actually one of the adult gang and he and Sunao had their ages reversed or something. The adults seems to go way back so maybe Sunao and Sora knew them as kids? Conspiracy theory 2: Maybe Yoru and Ran are the original personalities/past lives/alternate-dimension-personalities. Conspiracy Theory 3: Shuichirou must use a whole lotta gel to get a that cool-but-scary Maths teacher hairstyle at school and then have a wind-ruffled biker look at home. Fond of tank tops, are we?

Naruto 124
Kyaaaa! Rock Lee ROCKS! Drunken Fist is a really good fit for his I-make-DORK-cool! character! Seriously, his action sequence with Mr Scary I-use-my-BONES-as-weapon is sooo cool. You could see their moves making sense and not one of those zippingly-impossible movements. When he actually stood on his hands and fought with just his feet was kyyaaa! Looks like the anime is catching up with the manga yah?

BLEACH 19 -22
"They are all self-proclaimed!!!" - Ganju's antics just brings tears to my eyes. A bit of audience-care by not having Gin chop off Jidanbou's entire arm but it kinda removes that edge of evilness from Gin's character. He's got to be evil from the start to draw suspicion fron Aizen.
